As i wrote in the about me - i am first and foremost a techie - but play with programming.

 

This site is created in Umbraco 13 - i am trying to learn this system, as we are using it in my work.

Besides using Umbraco on the CMS, and MS-SQL as database, and hosted on windows, i have setup a linux server with Nginx to proxy the traffic from the internet. I am running this on my home internet connection , and have only one IP address, and i have also other projects that i want to showcase - Nginx will help me with that.

I ran the site on Ubuntu Linux also at some point ..... why ? because you can :-) run a .NET Core web application off linux - and with a MS-SQL backend on a Windows host - but lazy as i am - i reverted back to windows for hosting the site  - i may go back again.

On this Umbraco thing i am a novice - big time - i find it confusing that i can change code in the backend, which of course will be stored on the live system, but do i get this back to the development environment (Visual Studio 2022) ? - if i develop in the dev environment, i can of course publish it and all goes the right places .... well someday i find the answer perhaps :-)
